Variants§

§

CallInContent

The tool call is written as JSON text in content, tool_calls stays empty.

§

CallInReasoning

The tool call appears in reasoning_content (or a <think> block), not tool_calls.

§

ArgsInvalidJson

arguments is not valid JSON.

§

NoCall

Answers in prose instead of calling a tool.

§

ParallelSerialised

Several requested tools: only the first is called.

§

ParallelInContent

Several requested tools: all calls written into content.

§

SchemaFlattened

Nested object/array arguments flattened to strings.

§

LoopsOnTool

After a tool result, calls the same tool again instead of answering.

§

IgnoresResult

After a tool result, answers without using it.

§

SchemaDroppedSilent

response_format ignored: HTTP 200 with prose.

§

SchemaRejected

response_format with a schema answered with HTTP 400.

§

EnumIgnored

enum constraints ignored.

§

PatternIgnored

pattern constraints ignored.

§

StreamTruncated

Stream ends mid tool call: no finish_reason, no [DONE].

§

EmbedNondeterministic

/v1/embeddings returns a different vector for the same text each time.

§

StreamArgsSplitInvalid

Streamed argument fragments do not concatenate to valid JSON.

§

RuntimeParseError

The runtime’s tool-call parser rejects the model’s output, as llama-server does with “does not match the expected peg-native format”: HTTP 500, or an error event in the middle of a stream.
