pub struct ObservabilityContext {

pub name: Option<String>,

pub metadata: BTreeMap<String, String>,
}Expand description
Vendor-neutral observability context carried on an LLMRequest.
The kernel treats this as opaque data — it never parses or forwards the values. Observability middleware consumes it:
traceparentlets an adapter attach the generation under a trace the caller already opened (W3C trace-context format, matching the standardtraceparentheader, so callers inside an OpenTelemetry context can extract and pass it directly).session_idgroups related calls per execution unit rather than per client.nameoverrides the observation name (verb-first, low-cardinality, model-free — backends index and filter by name).tags/metadataride along for backend-side filtering.
Fields§
§traceparent: Option<String>W3C trace context of the parent span (traceparent header format).
session_id: Option<String>Session id grouping related calls in observability backends.
name: Option<String>Observation name override (verb-first, low-cardinality, model-free).
Tags attached to the trace in observability backends.
metadata: BTreeMap<String, String>Free-form string metadata forwarded to observability backends.
