Read-only context used during [PhysicalPlan] construction.
Intentionally free of:
QueryStorage, transaction/session handles- Runtime, memory tracker, cursor, buffer, emitted state
- Per-execution parameter values, auth context, current snapshot
- Temporary space/storage references that belong in bindings
Fields§
§schema: Option<SchemaRef>Schema catalog reference (space schema + layout version).
statistics: StatisticsSnapshotStatistics snapshot for cardinality estimation.
config: PlanningConfigPlanning configuration.
expected_output_layout: Option<SlotLayout>The output slot layout expected by the parent (if known at build time).
parameter_schema: ParameterSchemaParameter schema for prepared-statement parameters.
partition_spec: Option<PartitionSpec>optional partition spec for partitioned execution. When set, the builder produces a PhysicalPlan with multiple source fragments and exchange/gather fragments instead of a single linear chain.
parallel_fallback_reason: StringWhy parallel partitioning was not applied (empty = partitioning
active or not requested). Copied into the built [PhysicalPlan] so
EXPLAIN / PROFILE diagnostics can surface it.
cbo_notes: Vec<String>Cost-based decision notes (unnest / join order) copied from the
optimized [ExecutionPlan] into the built [PhysicalPlan] so
EXPLAIN diagnostics can surface why the optimizer chose a shape.
statistics_summary: StringEffective statistics collection settings (sampling window and
refresh threshold) copied from the pipeline into the built
[PhysicalPlan] so EXPLAIN diagnostics can surface them.
Implementations§
Source§impl PhysicalPlanBuildContext
impl PhysicalPlanBuildContext
Sourcepub fn from_execution_context(context: &ExecutionContext) -> Self
pub fn from_execution_context(context: &ExecutionContext) -> Self
Create a new build context from an ExecutionContext, extracting
only the immutable, plan-relevant portions.
Note: ExecutionContext still carries runtime-bound state that
should eventually be separated. This constructor extracts what it
needs and leaves the rest behind.
Sourcepub fn allocate_operator_id(&mut self) -> PhysicalOperatorId
pub fn allocate_operator_id(&mut self) -> PhysicalOperatorId
Allocate a new physical operator ID from the unified arena.
Sourcepub fn allocate_fragment_id(&mut self) -> FragmentId
pub fn allocate_fragment_id(&mut self) -> FragmentId
Allocate a new fragment ID.
Sourcepub fn peek_operator_id(&self) -> PhysicalOperatorId
pub fn peek_operator_id(&self) -> PhysicalOperatorId
Peek at the next operator ID without consuming it.
Sourcepub fn validate(&self) -> Result<(), QueryError>
pub fn validate(&self) -> Result<(), QueryError>
Check that this context has been configured correctly.
