Image mode: read-only (one-shot archive) or read-write (live filesystem).

LimniFS’s key differentiator vs SquashFS/DwarFS is RW support — images can be updated incrementally without full rebuilds.

Variants§

ReadOnly

Read-only archive. Created once, read many times. All data is available at creation time — aggressive compression and full dedup are worthwhile.

§

ReadWrite(RWMode)

Read-write image supporting incremental updates.
