XSD component types — mirrors the upstream libxml2 schema component classification.

§UPSTREAM-PARITY

libxml2 defines these as xmlSchemaTypeType in include/schemas/internals.h.

Variants§

§

Schema

The xs:schema root declaration. Also used as a fallback kind for unrecognized elements during parsing.

§

Element

An xs:element declaration.

§

Attribute

An xs:attribute declaration.

§

ComplexType

An xs:complexType definition (element/attribute content, possibly mixed).

§

SimpleType

An xs:simpleType definition (a constrained built-in or derived simple type).

§

SimpleContent

An xs:simpleContent model on a complex type (text-only content).

§

ComplexContent

An xs:complexContent model on a complex type (restriction or extension).

§

Sequence

An xs:sequence model group whose children must appear in order.

§

Choice

An xs:choice model group of which exactly one child is allowed.

§

All

An xs:all model group whose children may appear in any order.

§

Restriction

An xs:restriction, deriving a type by constraining its base type.

§

Extension

An xs:extension, deriving a type by adding content to its base type.

§

List

An xs:list simple type (a whitespace-separated list of an item type).

§

Union

An xs:union simple type whose value must match one of its member types.

§

Annotation

An xs:annotation (documentation/appinfo). Skipped during schema parsing.

§

Any

An xs:any wildcard that matches any element.

§

AnyAttribute

An xs:anyAttribute wildcard that matches any attribute.

§

Group

An xs:group named model group (used either as a definition or a reference).

§

AttributeGroup

An xs:attributeGroup named attribute group (definition or reference).

§

Notation

An xs:notation declaration binding a notation name to a system/resource.

§

Unique

An xs:unique identity constraint.

§

Key

An xs:key identity constraint.

§

KeyRef

An xs:keyref identity constraint that references a key or unique constraint.

§

Selector

An xs:selector, the XPath selection of an identity constraint.

§

Field

An xs:field, the XPath field of an identity constraint.
