Pinecone vector store client

Implementations§

Source§

impl PineconeStore

Source

pub fn new(api_key: impl Into<String>, host: impl Into<String>) -> Self

Create a Pinecone client.

host format: https://{index-name}.svc.{environment}.pinecone.io

Source

pub fn build_upsert_body( docs: &[Document], vectors: &[Vec<f32>], ids: &[String], ) -> Result<Value, VectorStoreError>

Build the upsert request body, injecting each document’s text into metadata.content (only when the caller did not already set that key) and failing loudly when a vector’s metadata exceeds the 40 KiB cap.

0.25.0 B3: read-back paths recover the document text from metadata.content (PineconeStore::query); without the injection the text is silently lost on the round trip. Oversized metadata is rejected here instead of surfacing as an opaque Pinecone 400 transport error.

Source

pub fn build_query_body(query_vec: &[f32], top_k: usize) -> Value

Build query request body (pure function, convenient for testing).

Source

pub fn build_query_body_filtered( query_vec: &[f32], top_k: usize, filter: &MetadataFilter, ) -> Value

Build query request body with a metadata filter (pure function, convenient for testing).

S3: extends build_query_body with a Pinecone filter field, where filter_to_pinecone translates MetadataFilter → Pinecone query syntax (field name → $op value, combinations via $and/$or).

Source

pub async fn upsert( &self, docs: &[Document], embeddings: &dyn Embeddings, ) -> Result<(), VectorStoreError>

Upsert documents (auto-embed).

Source

pub async fn query( &self, query_vec: Vec<f32>, top_k: usize, ) -> Result<Vec<Document>, VectorStoreError>

Query similar documents.

Source

pub async fn describe_index_stats( &self, ) -> Result<PineconeIndexStats, VectorStoreError>

Reads index statistics (the only reliable source for a true count).

The Pinecone REST API provides describe_index_stats, returning totalVectorCount.

Source

pub async fn delete(&self, ids: &[String]) -> Result<(), VectorStoreError>

Delete by IDs.
