An array encoding for primitive fields where the validity information is stored in a separate bitmap
“primitive” fields are any field which can be represented in Arrow by a fixed-size buffer of values and a validity buffer. This includes the fields you would expect (integers, floats, temporal types) as well as null, boolean, and fixed size list/string/binary types.
