RequestError

Enum RequestError

Source
#[non_exhaustive]
pub enum RequestError { Unavailable(ConnectError), Peer(Rejected), Credentials(Error), ProcessMismatch { peer: ProcessId, reported: u32, }, Late, Protocol(Error), }
Expand description

Why a control request did not produce a trusted reply.

Variants (Non-exhaustive)§

This enum is marked as non-exhaustive
Non-exhaustive enums could have additional variants added in future. Therefore, when matching against variants of non-exhaustive enums, an extra wildcard arm must be added to account for any future variants.
§

Unavailable(ConnectError)

Nothing accepted the connection in time.

§

Peer(Rejected)

The peer runs as another user or is not the expected process.

§

Credentials(Error)

The OS could not read the peer credentials.

§

ProcessMismatch

The reply names a different process than the one on the connection.

Fields

§peer: ProcessId

The PID the kernel reports for the connection.

§reported: u32

The PID the reply claims.

§

Late

The deadline passed before a reply arrived.

§

Protocol(Error)

Negotiation, framing or the reply itself failed. A server that refused the connection says why through wire::Refused::of.

Implementations§

Source§

impl RequestError

Source

pub fn is_transient(&self) -> bool

Whether retrying the same endpoint can succeed: nothing was serving it yet. Every other failure needs rediscovery or a different decision.

1.0.0 · Source§

fn description(&self) -> &str

👎Deprecated since 1.42.0:

use the Display impl or to_string()

1.0.0 · Source§

fn cause(&self) -> Option<&dyn Error>

👎Deprecated since 1.33.0:

replaced by Error::source, which can support downcasting

fn provide<'a>(&'a self, request: &mut Request<'a>)

🔬This is a nightly-only experimental API. (error_generic_member_access)
