Implementations§

Source§

impl Record

Source

pub fn encode<B: BufMut>(&self, buf: &mut B) -> Result<(), RecordsError>

Encode a single record into buf as a varlong length prefix and fields.

§Errors

Returns the underlying protocol error when input is truncated, contains an invalid length or tag, or cannot be encoded for the selected version.

Source

pub fn encoded_len(&self) -> usize

Predicted total length of this record on the wire, length-prefix plus body.

§Panics

Panics if a value previously validated by the protocol type no longer satisfies its encoded-length or field-range invariant.

Source

pub fn body_len(&self) -> usize

Size of this record’s body in bytes: what Kafka’s DefaultRecord calls sizeOfBodyInBytes, and what its varlong length prefix declares.

The body is the attributes byte, the two deltas, and the key, the value and the headers, each behind its own length prefix. A null key, value or header value counts as the one-byte -1 marker. The length prefix itself is not counted: Record::encoded_len is the prefix and this.

Source

pub fn decode<B: Buf>(buf: &mut B) -> Result<Self, RecordsError>

Decode a single record.

buf must be positioned at the record’s varlong length prefix.

§Errors

Returns the underlying protocol error when input is truncated, contains an invalid length or tag, or cannot be encoded for the selected version.
