CompressionError

Enum CompressionError

Source
#[non_exhaustive]
pub enum CompressionError { FeatureDisabled(&'static str), InvalidData(String), TooLarge { limit: usize, }, InvalidLevel { codec: &'static str, level: i32, reason: String, }, Io(Error), }
Expand description

Errors that can occur during compression or decompression.

Variants (Non-exhaustive)§

This enum is marked as non-exhaustive
Non-exhaustive enums could have additional variants added in future. Therefore, when matching against variants of non-exhaustive enums, an extra wildcard arm must be added to account for any future variants.
§

FeatureDisabled(&'static str)

The requested codec was not enabled at compile time. The codec name is one of "gzip", "snappy", "lz4", "zstd".

§

InvalidData(String)

The codec could not parse the compressed payload. Examples are truncated input, bad framing, and an invalid checksum.

§

TooLarge

Decompression produced, or would produce, more output than the caller’s max_output cap allows. This guards against decompression bombs, that is a small compressed payload that expands to gigabytes.

Fields

§limit: usize
§

InvalidLevel

The compression level is outside the range that Kafka accepts for the codec, or the codec has no levels. reason is the message of Kafka’s level validator (CompressionType.levelValidator).

Fields

§codec: &'static str

The codec name: "none", "gzip", "snappy", "lz4" or "zstd".

§level: i32

The level that the caller gave.

§reason: String

Kafka’s message for the level.

§

Io(Error)

I/O error from one of the codec libraries.
