AutoOffsetReset

Enum AutoOffsetReset

Source
pub enum AutoOffsetReset {
    Earliest,
    Latest,
    None,
    ByDuration(Duration),
}
Expand description

What to do when a partition has no committed offset. Kafka’s auto.offset.reset.

Variants§

§

Earliest

Start from the log-start offset. Consumer::poll resolves it lazily with ListOffsets(timestamp=-2), so a partition never reports offset 0 before the broker’s real log start is known.

§

Latest

Start from the log-end offset. Consumer::poll resolves it lazily with ListOffsets(timestamp=-1).

§

None

Do not reset automatically. On a missing committed offset, poll and position return ConsumerError::NoOffsetForPartition naming the partitions, instead of synthesizing a reset. On a detected truncation, poll returns ConsumerError::LogTruncation.

§

ByDuration(Duration)

Start from the first offset whose timestamp is at or after now minus this duration (KIP-1106, by_duration:<ISO-8601 duration>). Consumer::poll resolves it with ListOffsets(timestamp).
