Expand description

The element types kime reads from checkpoints. Weights are floats. The integer types exist because safetensors files may carry them, and a loader that knows their size can check a file it will not use.

Variants§

§

F32

IEEE binary32.

§

F16

IEEE binary16.

§

BF16

bfloat16.

§

I64

Signed 64 bit integers.

§

I32

Signed 32 bit integers.

§

I8

Signed 8 bit integers.

§

U8

Unsigned 8 bit integers.

§

Bool

Booleans, one byte each.

Implementations§

Source§

impl DType

Source

pub const fn size(self) -> usize

Bytes per element.

Source

pub const fn name(self) -> &'static str

The name safetensors uses, which kime also uses in .kime headers.

Source

pub fn from_name(name: &str) -> Option<Self>

The inverse of DType::name.

Source

pub const fn is_float(self) -> bool

Whether this is one of the float types weights come in.

Source

pub fn read_f32(self, bytes: &[u8], i: usize) -> f32

Reads element i of little endian bytes as f32. Panics if bytes is too short, and returns NaN for the integer types, which no weight uses.
