Variants

Exponential

salience * exp(-decay_factor * age_days) — half-life = ln(2)/decay_factor. Pack defaults: episodic decay_factor=0.02 (~35d), semantic decay_factor=0.005 (~139d).

Hyperbolic

salience / (1 + decay_factor * age_days)

PowerLaw

salience * half_life / (half_life + age_days)
