A file and the metadata of the exact inode that was opened.

Fields§

§file: File

The open handle. Every subsequent read must go through THIS, never through a second lookup of the same path.

§metadata: Metadata

Metadata taken from the open descriptor, so it describes the inode the handle refers to rather than whatever the name resolves to now.
