pub enum VolumeKind {
None,
Tick,
RealTurnover,
}Expand description
What a bar’s volume field actually measures.
Volume-based indicators (VWAP, volume profile, CVD, …) assume traded turnover. Many feeds
cannot provide that: a CFD/FX broker’s volume is typically tick/update count (activity, not
turnover), and a cash index has no volume at all (it is a computed value, not a traded
instrument). Declaring which kind a series has lets crate::applicability tell these cases
apart instead of silently computing a profile/VWAP over the wrong quantity.
Variants§
None
No volume data at all (e.g. a cash index).
Tick
Update/tick count, not traded turnover (typical of CFD/FX broker feeds).
RealTurnover
Real traded turnover (shares, contracts, lots) as reported by an exchange.
