who an adapter is

Fields§

§name: String

the GPU’s name (“NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 SUPER”)

§vendor_id: u32§device_id: u32§vendor: &'static str

the vendor’s name for well-known vendor ids (“NVIDIA”, “AMD”, “Intel”, ..)

§kind: AdapterKind§driver: String

the driver’s name (“NVIDIA”) and its information string (the version as the vendor writes it)

§driver_info: String§driver_version: String

the driver version decoded by the vendor’s scheme

§api_version: (u32, u32, u32)

the API version the device supports (major, minor, patch)

§backend: &'static str

“Vulkan”, later “WebGPU” / “Metal”

§missing: Option<&'static str>

why the backend cannot use this adapter (None: usable)
