Variants (Non-exhaustive)

Non-exhaustive enums could have additional variants added in future. Therefore, when matching against variants of non-exhaustive enums, an extra wildcard arm must be added to account for any future variants.

Disabled

Disables rate limiting entirely.

Simple

Rate limits by the connection’s peer IP address.

Smart

Rate limits by the client IP, extracted from reverse-proxy headers.

Uses the headers commonly set by reverse proxies (for example X-Forwarded-For) to extract the original client IP, falling back to the connection’s peer IP address. See SmartIpKeyExtractor.
