Struct Section

pub struct Section {
    pub id: u32,
    pub kind: SectionKind,
    pub offset: u64,
    pub len: u64,
    pub digest: Digest,
}
Expand description

One run of bytes in the payload area.

Fields§

§id: u32

What the rest of the container refers to this section by.

§kind: SectionKind

What it holds.

§offset: u64

Where it starts, counted from the start of the file.

§len: u64

How many bytes long it is.

§digest: Digest

The digest of those bytes.

Implementations§

Source§

impl Section

Source

pub const VERSION: u16 = 1

The record version this build writes.

Source

pub const fn end(&self) -> Option<u64>

Where the section ends, or None if the arithmetic overflows.

The Option is the point. These two numbers came out of a file somebody else wrote, and the first thing a hostile one does is pick an offset and a length that add up to something small.

Source

pub fn encode(&self, w: &mut Writer<'_>) -> AbiResult<()>

Writes this record’s payload.

§Errors

Returns whatever the writer returns.

Source

pub fn decode(p: &mut Reader<'_>) -> AbiResult<Self>

Reads this record’s payload.

§Errors

Returns iris_abi::Error if the payload is truncated.
