Total messages received (new + duplicates).

Messages accepted as novel (forwarded to inbound queue).

§total_duplicates: AtomicU64

Messages discarded as duplicates.

§total_fanned_out: AtomicU64

Individual (target, message) pairs enqueued for fanout.
