Per-peer reputation state.

Fields

peer_id: String

String identifier for the peer (e.g. libp2p PeerId string representation).

score: f64

Current reputation score, clamped to [-100.0, 100.0]. Starts at 0.0.

event_count: u64

Total number of events recorded for this peer.

last_event_at: Option<Instant>

Instant of the last recorded event, or None if no events yet.

created_at: Instant

Instant at which this record was created.

Creates a fresh reputation record for the given peer.

pub fn record_event(&mut self, event: PeerReputationEvent)

Applies the score delta for event, clamps the result, and increments the event counter.

pub fn is_banned(&self) -> bool

Returns true when the peer’s score has fallen to or below -50.0.

pub fn is_trusted(&self) -> bool

Returns true when the peer’s score has reached or exceeded +50.0.

pub fn decay(&mut self, elapsed: Duration)

Applies time-based exponential decay toward 0.

The formula used is:

score *= 1.0 - 0.001 * elapsed.as_secs_f64().min(100.0)

This approximates a decay of 0.1 % per second, capped at 10 % for any single call regardless of how much real time has elapsed.

Returns the PeerTier that corresponds to the current score.
