Controls how an element is positioned in the layout.

Variants

Static

Default positioning in the normal document flow. This is the default.

Relative

Positioned relative to its normal position.

Absolute

Positioned relative to its nearest positioned ancestor.

Sticky

Positioned based on scroll position.

Fixed

Positioned relative to the viewport.

Returns true for Static, Relative, and Sticky, which are positioned relative to their parent. Returns false for Absolute and Fixed, which break out of the normal flow.
