Expand description
Building blocks for parameter sweeps over a model.
A config is one set of parameter values and action ticks. A run builds the model at a config with one seed and steps it, and the runs of a config are its replicates, told apart by their seeds. A sample reads the model’s stats at one tick, and a reducer folds a run’s samples of one stat column into one value. A stop condition ends a run at the first sample where it holds. A factor is a parameter or action tick a sweep varies, and a block combines factors under one design. The configs of a sweep are those of its blocks, in order. A search picks its configs a batch at a time instead, from the results of the configs it ran before.
Modules§
- design
- Designs that combine the factors of a block into configs.
- design_
csv - Design tables, the comma-separated form of a table design.
- design_
rng - Random draws of sampled designs and searches, each stream from one seed.
- factor
- Factors of a sweep, as a spec writes them and as a plan resolves them.
- fingerprint
- Fowler-Noll-Vo (FNV-1a) 64-bit hashes that identify a model’s declarations, a plan and a run.
- measure
- Sampling of one run: the ticks it samples, and the reducer values and series it keeps from them.
- outcome
- Runs that a plan requests, and the record of each finished run.
- plan
- Plans that check a sweep spec against a model and list every config and run.
- reducer
- Reducers that fold a run’s samples of one stat column into one value.
- replay
- Replays, each holding the build and schedule of one sweep run.
- search
- Searches that pick the configs to run from the results of the configs run before.
- seed
- Seeds of the runs in a sweep, each derived from one root seed.
- spec
- Sweep specs, as a spec file or the command line writes them.
- stop
- Stop conditions, each ending a run at the first sample where one stat column passes a threshold.
- summary
- Statistics over the replicates of each config.
- value
- Parameter values written as text, read and checked against their descriptors.
