pub enum RefreshOutcome {
Unchanged,
CaughtUp {
entries: usize,
},
Reloaded,
}Expand description
What Table::refresh found on disk since this handle last looked. Modelled on
RestoreOutcome, which reports the same kind of thing about an open: not whether it worked,
but which of its two ways it had to work.
Variants§
Unchanged
Every log file this handle holds is exactly where it left it — one stat per partition was
read and nothing else.
CaughtUp
Lines another writer appended past this handle’s watermark were scanned and applied on top of the registry it already had.
Reloaded
A log file was replaced underneath this handle — what the rewrite half of a foreign
Table::compact does — so the registry was thrown away and rebuilt from the files as they
are now. Slots recorded before such a rewrite name offsets that no longer mean anything,
which is exactly why this case cannot be served by scanning onwards from a watermark.
