One worker’s state for a walk: a decompressed-chunk cache it carries from locus to locus.
The cache is the caller’s, not the call’s. A walk that reads locus after
locus hands the same cursors back every time, which is what lets a cursor’s
blocks serve more than the read that filled them — and rebuilding them per
call is what makes reading a few loci at a time cost more than reading many.
