A single WebSocket message. Exactly one field of kind is set. Keepalive is NOT an application frame: it uses native WebSocket ping/pong control frames (RFC 6455 §5.5.2), which browsers auto-answer and which generate the wire traffic that keeps idle-timeout proxies from dropping a quiet stream. Field numbers 6/7 held the removed app-level Ping/Pong and are reserved so they are never reused.
