Returns true when no mappings are configured.

pub fn map_user(&self, name: String, email: String) -> (String, String)

Apply mailmap to a name/email pair (both may be empty strings).

Returns (mapped_name, mapped_email) after applying the same rules as Git’s map_user.

pub fn map_user_str(&self, name: &str, email: &str) -> (String, String)

Like Self::map_user but takes string slices (avoids cloning when nothing matches).

pub fn map_user_cow<'a>( &self, name: &'a str, email: &'a str, ) -> (Cow<'a, str>, Cow<'a, str>)

Borrowed name/email when the mailmap does not remap this identity.
