pub enum HookStdio {
Capture,
Inherit,
}Expand description
Where hook subprocesses send their stdout and stderr.
The library never writes hook output itself: it either hands the bytes back to the caller or lets the child write straight to this process’s standard streams.
Variants§
Capture
Pipe both streams and return them in HookResult and HookError::Failed.
The default, so an embedder (TUI, GUI, server) can show the output in its own way.
Inherit
The child writes directly to this process’s stderr, as Git does: live output, nothing
buffered. A hook’s stdout goes to stderr too unless
RunHookOptions::stdout_to_stderr is false. Returned HookOutputs are empty.
