Which algorithm to estimate with.

Both minimize the same weighted-least-squares objective and, on a well-conditioned problem, reach the same state — power-grid-model’s fixtures accept either method against one expected answer, and gridoxide’s tests check that they agree.

Variants

NewtonRaphson

Gauss-Newton on the nonlinear problem. Slower per iteration — a fresh Jacobian and factorization each time — and the more accurate of the two.

IterativeLinear

Linearize the measurements into currents, factorize once, iterate on the right-hand side alone. Faster, at the cost of the approximations super::iterative documents.
