pub struct FallibleTask<T>(/* private fields */);Expand description
A Task that resolves to Option<T>, and to None instead of panicking
when the task is cancelled.
Create one with Task::fallible. Like Task, dropping it cancels the
future and detaching lets it finish. Await it to get Some(output), or
None if the task closed without an output. A panic in the future still
propagates to the awaiter.
Implementations§
Source§impl<T> FallibleTask<T>
impl<T> FallibleTask<T>
Sourcepub fn ready(val: T) -> Self
pub fn ready(val: T) -> Self
Returns a fallible task that is already complete and resolves to
Some(val).
Sourcepub fn detach(self)
pub fn detach(self)
Lets the future run to completion in the background and discards its
output. See Task::detach.
