Variants

Value

Show just the value (default).

Both

Show “var: value”.

Custom(fn(&str, &str) -> String)

Custom formatting function: fn(variable_name, value) -> label.

Wrap(usize)

The value, wrapped onto lines of at most this many characters (ggplot2’s label_wrap_gen(width), #412).

Template(String)

A template with {var} and {value} placeholders, e.g. "n = {value}" (ggplot2’s label_bquote(cols = n == .(n)) / as_labeller glue strings, #412).

PerVar(Vec<(String, FacetLabeller)>)

A labeller per facet variable (ggplot2’s labeller(var1 = …, var2 = …), #412); variables not listed use Value.

Lookup(Vec<(String, String)>)

Fixed value → label lookups (ggplot2’s as_labeller(c(a = "…")), #412); values not listed show as they are.

MultiLine

A combined multi-variable value (facet_grid_multi’s "a . b") on one line per variable (ggplot2’s multi_line = TRUE, #412).

Parsed

The value read as a plotmath expression (ggplot2’s label_parsed, #412), drawn as Unicode text: Greek names (alpha → α), x^2 → x², x[i] → xᵢ, == → =, %*% → ×, * (juxtaposition) dropped.
