pub enum PairSurfaceBackend {
GridExact,
DenseRidge,
}Expand description
Which estimator produced a PairSurfaceFit.
Variants§
GridExact
The streaming 2-D grid engine: exact REML on the full anisotropic
biharmonic penalty (mixed f_{x1x2} term included), O(n) assembly,
exact log-determinants — the first-class pair-component estimator.
DenseRidge
The dense ridge fallback (fit_tensor_surface) on the SAME
B-spline tensor basis, used only when the grid solve degenerates
(e.g. a non-positive-definite penalized system or n − edf < 1).
