SIP Endpoint Core Implementation

EndpointInner is the core implementation of a SIP endpoint that manages transactions, timers, and transport layer communication. It serves as the central coordination point for all SIP protocol operations.

Constructs a properly formatted SIP request with all required headers according to RFC 3261. This method is used internally by the endpoint to create outgoing SIP requests for various purposes.

  • method - SIP method (INVITE, REGISTER, BYE, etc.)
  • req_uri - Request-URI indicating the target of the request
  • via - Via header for response routing
  • from - From header identifying the request originator
  • to - To header identifying the request target
  • seq - CSeq sequence number for the request

A complete SIP request with all mandatory headers

§Generated Headers

The method automatically includes these mandatory headers:

  • Via - Response routing information
  • Call-ID - Unique identifier for the call/session
  • From - Request originator with tag parameter

  • Max-Forwards - Hop count limit (set to 70)
