Tape

Struct Tape

Source
pub struct Tape { /* private fields */ }
Expand description

The tape (Wengert list) recording the forward computation. Create Vars from it, compute, then call Var::backward. Interior mutability lets Copy Var handles append nodes during ordinary arithmetic.

Implementations§

Source§

impl Tape

Source

pub fn new() -> Self

A fresh, empty tape.

Source

pub fn len(&self) -> usize

Number of recorded nodes (operations + leaves).

Source

pub fn is_empty(&self) -> bool

Whether the tape is empty.

Source

pub fn var(&self, value: f64) -> Var<'_>

Introduce an independent variable (a leaf) with the given value.

Source

pub fn constant(&self, value: f64) -> Var<'_>

A constant on this tape (a leaf whose gradient never flows). Same as var but semantically read-only.
