Enum IdMapError

Source
#[non_exhaustive]
pub enum IdMapError {
#[non_exhaustive]
Unsatisfiable { reason: String, },
#[non_exhaustive]
HelperSpawn { helper: String, source: Option<Error>, },

HelperFailed { helper: String, detail: String, },
#[non_exhaustive]
MapWrite { which: &'static str, source: Error, }, }
Expand description

An identity-map delegate failure.

Returned by IdMapper implementations. A resolve failure surfaces from CageBuilder::build as ConfigError::IdentityMapUnavailable; an apply failure surfaces from the launch as Error::IdentityMap.

Variants (Non-exhaustive)§

This enum is marked as non-exhaustive
Non-exhaustive enums could have additional variants added in future. Therefore, when matching against variants of non-exhaustive enums, an extra wildcard arm must be added to account for any future variants.
§

#[non_exhaustive]
Unsatisfiable

The delegate cannot satisfy the request, and says why.

Fields

This variant is marked as non-exhaustive
Non-exhaustive enum variants could have additional fields added in future. Therefore, non-exhaustive enum variants cannot be constructed in external crates and cannot be matched against.
§reason: String

What the delegate is missing: privilege, an allocation, a queryable source.

§

#[non_exhaustive]
HelperSpawn

A helper binary could not be executed.

Fields

This variant is marked as non-exhaustive
Non-exhaustive enum variants could have additional fields added in future. Therefore, non-exhaustive enum variants cannot be constructed in external crates and cannot be matched against.
§helper: String

The helper that failed to start.

§source: Option<Error>

The underlying error, absent where the spawn failed with none.

§

#[non_exhaustive]
HelperFailed

A helper binary ran and refused the map.

Fields

This variant is marked as non-exhaustive
Non-exhaustive enum variants could have additional fields added in future. Therefore, non-exhaustive enum variants cannot be constructed in external crates and cannot be matched against.
§helper: String

The helper that refused.

§detail: String

What the helper reported on standard error, trimmed.

§

#[non_exhaustive]
MapWrite

Writing a map file failed.

Fields

This variant is marked as non-exhaustive
Non-exhaustive enum variants could have additional fields added in future. Therefore, non-exhaustive enum variants cannot be constructed in external crates and cannot be matched against.
§which: &'static str

The file that could not be written: "uid_map" or "gid_map".

§source: Error

The underlying error.

Implementations§

Source§

impl IdMapError

Source

pub fn unsatisfiable(reason: impl Into<String>) -> IdMapError

The delegate cannot satisfy the request, and says why.

The refusal every delegate needs: reason names what is missing — privilege, an allocation, a queryable source — and surfaces verbatim in the configuration error the build reports.

Source

pub fn helper_spawn( helper: impl Into<String>, source: Option<Error>, ) -> IdMapError

A helper binary could not be executed.

source is None where the failure carried no OS error at all, which is a fact rather than an errno of zero: rendering zero would read “Success (os error 0)”.

Source

pub fn helper_failed( helper: impl Into<String>, detail: impl Into<String>, ) -> IdMapError

A helper binary ran and refused the map.

Source

pub fn map_write(which: &'static str, source: Error) -> IdMapError

Writing a map file failed. which is "uid_map" or "gid_map".

impl Error for IdMapError

Source§

fn source(&self) -> Option<&(dyn Error + 'static)>

The OS failure underneath, where there is one.

Unsatisfiable and HelperFailed carry no inner error: the first is a refusal this crate composed, and the second is what a helper wrote to its standard error, which is text rather than an error value.

1.0.0 · Source§

fn description(&self) -> &str

👎Deprecated since 1.42.0:

use the Display impl or to_string()

1.0.0 · Source§

fn cause(&self) -> Option<&dyn Error>

👎Deprecated since 1.33.0:

replaced by Error::source, which can support downcasting
