Phase is deliberately independent of coverage and freshness. A stopped root may still serve a useful partial image, and a watching root may temporarily be stale.

Variants

Discovering

A cold walk is adding verified entries.

Reconciling

Explicit or gap-closing verification is in progress.

Ready

The current retained image is available without a live observer.

Watching

Native or polling observation is active.

Stopped

The owner will perform no more expanding work.

Failed

A terminal provider failure ended useful work.
