Errors that can occur when reflecting on types.

Variants§

§

NoSuchVariant

Tried to set an enum to a variant that does not exist

Fields

§enum_type: EnumType

The enum definition containing all known variants.

§

WrongShape

Tried to get the wrong shape out of a value — e.g. we were manipulating a String, but .get() was called with a u64 or something.

Fields

§expected: &'static Shape

The expected shape of the value.

§actual: &'static Shape

The actual shape of the value.

§

WasNotA

Attempted to perform an operation that expected a struct or something

Fields

§expected: &'static str

The name of the expected type.

§actual: &'static Shape

The type we got instead

§

UninitializedField

A field was not initialized during build

Fields

§shape: &'static Shape

The shape containing the field

§field_name: &'static str

The name of the field that wasn’t initialized

§

UninitializedEnumField

A field in an enum variant was not initialized during build

Fields

§shape: &'static Shape

The enum shape

§field_name: &'static str

The name of the field that wasn’t initialized

§variant_name: &'static str

The name of the variant containing the field

§

UninitializedValue

A scalar value was not initialized during build

Fields

§shape: &'static Shape

The scalar shape

§

InvariantViolation

An invariant of the reflection system was violated.

Fields

§invariant: &'static str

The invariant that was violated.

§

MissingCharacteristic

Attempted to set a value to its default, but the value doesn’t implement Default.

Fields

§shape: &'static Shape

The shape of the value that doesn’t implement Default.

§characteristic: Characteristic

The characteristic that is missing.

§

OperationFailed

An operation failed for a given shape

Fields

§shape: &'static Shape

The shape of the value for which the operation failed.

§operation: &'static str

The name of the operation that failed.

§

FieldError

An error occurred when attempting to access or modify a field.

Fields

§shape: &'static Shape

The shape of the value containing the field.

§field_error: FieldError

The specific error that occurred with the field.

§

MissingPushPointee

Indicates that we try to access a field on an Arc<T>, for example, and the field might exist on the T, but you need to do begin_smart_ptr first when using the WIP API.

Fields

§shape: &'static Shape

The smart pointer (Arc<T>, Box<T> etc.) shape on which field was caleld

§

Unknown

An unknown error occurred.

§

TryFromError

An error occured while putting
