No quoting (-N / literal).

Locale-aware (treated like shell-escape for nongraphic).

Quote when needed for the shell.

Shell quoting with $'' escapes for nongraphic.

ShellEscapeAlways

Always use shell-escape style.

Double quotes with C escapes (-Q / c).
