Path

Struct Path

Source
pub struct Path { /* private fields */ }
Expand description

A sequence of drawing commands describing one or more sub-paths.

A path is the unit of geometry in the chart renderer: axes, series polylines, pie slices, radar rings, and text decorations are all expressed as paths. Paths are immutable once built — the builder produces the final command buffer, and the tessellator consumes it without mutating it.

Implementations§

Source§

impl Path

Inherent implementation of Path.

Source

pub fn new() -> Self

Returns an empty path.

Source

pub fn builder() -> PathBuilder

Returns a path builder.

§Returns
  • PathBuilder - A PathBuilder value.
Source

pub fn commands(&self) -> &[PathCommand]

Returns the path’s command buffer.

§Returns
  • &[PathCommand] - A [PathCommand] value.
Source

pub fn fill_rule(&self) -> FillRule

Returns the rule used to decide which parts of the path are inside.

§Returns
  • FillRule - A FillRule value.
Source

pub fn is_empty(&self) -> bool

Returns true when the path holds no commands.

§Returns
  • bool - A boolean.
Source

pub fn len(&self) -> usize

Returns the number of commands in the path.

§Returns
  • usize - A non-negative integer.
Source

pub fn bounds(&self) -> BBox

Returns the tightest axis-aligned box containing the path.

The bounds are computed from the control points of every curve, which is a conservative over-estimate for Béziers — the true extremum of a curve lies strictly inside the control polygon. Over-estimating is the safe direction for culling: a shape is never culled when it should be drawn.

§Returns
  • BBox - A BBox value.
Source

pub fn transformed(&self, transform: &Transform2D) -> Path

Returns a copy of the path with the given transform applied.

The transform is baked into the coordinates rather than kept alongside the path, so the tessellator never has to apply it per-vertex.

§Arguments
  • &Transform2D - Shared reference to a Transform2D.
§Returns
  • Path - A Path value.
