Expand description

The layout of one axis.

Fields§

§index: usize

The index of the axis in the option.

§kind: AxisType

The kind of the axis.

§scale: Scale

The scale the axis maps with.

§ticks: Vec<AxisTick>

The ticks of the axis.

§side: AxisSide

The side of the grid the axis sits on.

§offset: f64

The pixel position of the axis’ line, perpendicular to the axis.

§label_space: f64

The space the axis’ labels need, perpendicular to the axis.

§name: Option<String>

The name of the axis.

§name_space: f64

The space the axis’ name needs, perpendicular to the axis.

§show: bool

Whether the axis is drawn.

§labels: Vec<AxisTick>

The labels of the axis.

§label_interval: usize

How many ticks pass between two labelled ones.

A category axis with a thousand categories cannot show a thousand labels: they would overlap into a smear. The interval is the number of ticks between two labels, so that the labels are far enough apart to be read.

Implementations§

Source§

impl AxisLayout

Inherent implementation of AxisLayout.

Source

pub fn position_of(&self, value: f64) -> f64

Returns the pixel position of the given data value.

§Arguments
  • f64 - A 64-bit float (f64).
§Returns
  • f64 - A 64-bit float.
Source

pub fn category_at(&self, pixel: f64) -> Option<usize>

Returns the index of the category at the given pixel position.

§Arguments
  • f64 - A 64-bit float (f64).
§Returns
  • Option<usize> - Some(...) on success, None otherwise.
