pub enum ExecutionGasCap {
Enforced,
Lifted,
}Expand description
What a simulation does with the EIP-8037 cap on execution gas (Amsterdam+).
A transaction may spend at most the per-transaction execution limit on execution and
routes the rest of its gas limit to the state-gas reservoir. A simulation that is never
submitted need not: geth lets eth_call and debug_traceCall spend their whole gas
limit on execution, while eth_estimateGas keeps the cap so that its answer holds for a
transaction that can be included.
