Struct ArrayMetadata

Source
#[non_exhaustive]
pub struct ArrayMetadata { pub dimensions: Vec<i64>, pub element_type: String, pub logical_type: Option<String>, pub preferred_subarray_dimensions: Vec<i64>, pub store_created: Option<i64>, pub store_last_write: Option<i64>, }
Expand description

Shape and element type of a dataset, without reading it.

The answer to ETP’s GetDataArrayMetadata, and what a viewer needs before deciding whether it can afford the data.

Built with ArrayMetadata::new; #[non_exhaustive], so that what ETP adds to DataArrayMetadata is not a breaking change for every caller.

Fields (Non-exhaustive)§

This struct is marked as non-exhaustive
Non-exhaustive structs could have additional fields added in future. Therefore, non-exhaustive structs cannot be constructed in external crates using the traditional Struct { .. } syntax; cannot be matched against without a wildcard ..; and struct update syntax will not work.
§dimensions: Vec<i64>

Number of elements along each dimension.

§element_type: String

Element type, as the backend names it (double, int64, …) - the type the values travel in (ETP’s transportArrayType).

§logical_type: Option<String>

ETP logicalArrayType, when the store distinguishes what the values mean from how they travel (an array of booleans carried as bytes). None when it does not: the element type is then all there is to say.

§preferred_subarray_dimensions: Vec<i64>

ETP preferredSubarrayDimensions: the block a store would rather be read by (its chunking). Empty when it has no preference.

§store_created: Option<i64>

ETP storeCreated of the array (microseconds since the Unix epoch, UTC). None when the store does not keep it.

§store_last_write: Option<i64>

ETP storeLastWrite of the array, same unit. None when not kept.

Implementations§

impl ArrayMetadata

Source

pub fn new(dimensions: Vec<i64>, element_type: impl Into<String>) -> Self
