RecoveryError

Enum RecoveryError

Source
#[non_exhaustive]
pub enum RecoveryError { Core(Error), RecoveryRequired { evidence: PathBuf, detail: String, }, }
Expand description

The result type used by the recovery-aware entry points.

These APIs can fail either with an ordinary Error or by retaining real evidence that an operator must inspect. Keeping those apart means a downstream match on Error stays exhaustive, while a recovery failure still carries its evidence path in a typed field rather than in text.

Variants (Non-exhaustive)§

This enum is marked as non-exhaustive
Non-exhaustive enums could have additional variants added in future. Therefore, when matching against variants of non-exhaustive enums, an extra wildcard arm must be added to account for any future variants.
§

Core(Error)

An ordinary core failure with no retained evidence.

§

RecoveryRequired

A partial recovery left Eggup-owned evidence that could not be resolved automatically.

evidence always names real retained bytes on disk. This is never reported as a successful acquisition or a completed transaction.

Fields

§evidence: PathBuf

Real, retained Eggup-owned evidence an operator must inspect.

§detail: String

Bounded human-readable detail.

Implementations§

Source§

impl RecoveryError

Source

pub fn evidence(&self) -> Option<&Path>

Returns the real retained evidence path when this is a recovery failure.

Source

pub fn detail(&self) -> &str

Returns bounded human-readable detail for either variant.
