pub enum TransportMode {
Reference,
Inline,
}Expand description
How a plane’s bytes cross a boundary.
Both modes are first-class; the choice is the application’s, not the HAL’s.
The HAL’s job is to make it expressible, which is why handle == -1 plus
carried bytes is part of the format rather than a convention layered on top.
Variants§
Reference
Carry handles. Requires the same host and an IPC-capable storage kind. Export borrows: the handles are valid only while the source tensor lives.
Inline
Carry the bytes. Always available, and required for mem and pbo
(which have no shareable handle) and for any storage kind travelling
over a network, where an fd and a pid are meaningless.
