Whose memory a decoder writes its pictures to. Either way the frames are DMA-BUF tensors and reach the GPU without a copy.

Variants

Imported

The pool’s DMA-BUFs (allocated by the decoder or provided by the caller), imported by the device.

Exported

The device’s own buffers, exported as DMA-BUFs because it would not import the pool’s. CPU reads of these may be uncached and slow.
