pub struct PmlVariance {
pub subject: f64,
pub cell: f64,
}Expand description
The two variance components, held on nebula’s own scale.
subject means different things in the two solvers: the C++ reads the same
sigma[0] slot differently in opt_pml and opt_pml_nbm.
Fields§
§subject: f64nebula’s sigma[0].
For opt_pml this is log(1 + sigma^2), the log of one plus the
squared coefficient of variation of the subject-level gamma random
effect; the solver derives alpha = 1 / (e^s - 1) and
lambda = 1 / (sqrt(e^s) (e^s - 1)) from it. For opt_pml_nbm it is
the variance of the normal random effect on the log scale, used as is.
cell: f64nebula’s sigma[1], its gamma: the cell-level negative binomial size,
the reciprocal of the cell-level overdispersion.
