InstanceBuffer

Struct InstanceBuffer

Source
pub struct InstanceBuffer { /* private fields */ }
Expand description

Fixed-capacity instance list rebuilt every frame without allocating.

Pushing past capacity drops the instance and counts it, so an undersized buffer is visible in metrics instead of silently growing (and allocating) on the hot path.

Implementations§

Source§

impl InstanceBuffer

Source

pub fn with_capacity(capacity: usize) -> Self

An empty buffer holding up to capacity instances. Allocates once, here.

Source

pub fn clear(&mut self)

Starts a new frame.

Source

pub fn push(&mut self, instance: Instance) -> bool

Appends instance; returns false (and counts a drop) when full.

Source

pub fn as_slice(&self) -> &[Instance]

Instances pushed since the last clear.

Source

pub fn len(&self) -> usize

Number of instances pushed.

Source

pub fn is_empty(&self) -> bool

true if nothing was pushed.

Source

pub fn capacity(&self) -> usize

Maximum number of instances.

Source

pub fn dropped(&self) -> u64

Instances dropped since the last clear.
