#[non_exhaustive]pub enum NearestTimestamp {
Earliest(Timestamp),
Latest(Timestamp),
Unknown,
}Expand description
The nearest retained timestamp on the side of the search bound that an out-of-range search failed against. Engines surface this to users so the error message can point at a valid timestamp.
Earliest and Latest carry the boundary commit’s timestamp. Unknown
means no boundary timestamp was available, e.g. empty log or a failure
reading the boundary commit’s In-Commit Timestamp at the error site.
Variants (Non-exhaustive)§
This enum is marked as non-exhaustive
Non-exhaustive enums could have additional variants added in future. Therefore, when matching against variants of non-exhaustive enums, an extra wildcard arm must be added to account for any future variants.
Earliest(Timestamp)
The earliest retained commit’s timestamp. Returned for a
GreatestLower search whose input fell below the retained range.
Latest(Timestamp)
The latest retained commit’s timestamp. Returned for a LeastUpper
search whose input fell above the retained range.
Unknown
No boundary timestamp could be determined.
