#[non_exhaustive]pub enum WarmupMode {
Automatic,
None,
QueryPlanning,
Network {
max_duration: Duration,
},
}Expand description
Selects how much work table loading performs before returning.
The default prepares supported S3 tables for repeated queries. Explicit modes select how much work to do before the first query.
Variants (Non-exhaustive)§
This enum is marked as non-exhaustive
Automatic
Uses network warmup for supported S3 stores when partial-page reads are enabled.
Network sampling has a five-second limit after metadata loading. Other stores, the Delta Kernel backend, and explicit range policies perform no warmup. If sampling starts but does not finish, the first later eligible scan retries it once during planning.
None
Performs no warmup.
QueryPlanning
Loads and retains the active-file metadata used during query planning.
Network
Retains query-planning metadata and samples remote data-file reads.
The time limit applies to network sampling, after metadata loading. Sampling is best effort, uses at most three files, and schedules at most 24.375 MiB of payload. Only the Direct backend with an automatic range policy and a supported S3 transport performs network sampling. Other settings keep metadata warmup only. An incomplete attempt can run once more, with the same limit, during an eligible scan.
