Errors that can occur during provider operations.

Variants (Non-exhaustive)§

This enum is marked as non-exhaustive
Non-exhaustive enums could have additional variants added in future. Therefore, when matching against variants of non-exhaustive enums, an extra wildcard arm must be added to account for any future variants.
§

Timeout

Request timeout.

Fields

§message: String
§

RateLimited

Rate limit exceeded.

Fields

§message: String
§

ConnectionFailed

Connection failed.

Fields

§message: String
§

InvalidResponse

Invalid response from RPC.

Fields

§message: String
§

RpcError

RPC error with code and message.

Fields

§code: i64
§message: String
§

ExecutionReverted

An EVM execution revert reported by the provider (eth_call/ eth_estimateGas). Replaces the string-scraping the Python adapter seam (degenbot.provider.alloy_errors) used to perform: the JSON-RPC error code (-32000 Geth/Alchemy, -3 Anvil, etc.) is preserved alongside the message so the FFI layer can raise the degenbot-owned ContractLogicError structurally rather than by marker substring.

Fields

§code: i64
§message: String
§

InvalidBlockRange

Invalid block range.

Fields

§from: u64
§to: u64
§

InvalidAddress

Invalid Ethereum address format.

Fields

§address: String
§reason: String
§

InvalidTopic

Invalid topic format.

Fields

§topic: String
§reason: String
§

InvalidParams

Invalid parameters.

Fields

§message: String
§

AnvilError

Anvil-specific error.

Fields

§message: String
§

InvalidAbi

Invalid ABI.

Fields

§message: String
§

EncodingError

Encoding error.

Fields

§message: String
§

DecodingError

Decoding error.

Fields

§message: String
§

SerializationError

Serialization error.

Fields

§message: String
§

SubscriptionNotSupported

Subscription not supported (e.g., HTTP transport).

Fields

§message: String
§

ChainMismatch

The endpoint serves a different chain than the one it was bound to.

Binding an endpoint to a chain reads eth_chainId once and refuses a disagreement here, before any pool or token I/O runs against a node that is not the chain the session declared. Not retryable: the same endpoint will keep answering with the same chain.

Fields

§expected: u64

The chain the endpoint was bound to.

§actual: u64

The chain the endpoint actually serves.

§endpoint: String

The endpoint that was bound.

§

Other

Other error.

Fields

§message: String

Implementations§

Source§

impl ProviderError

Source

pub const fn is_retryable(&self) -> bool

Returns true if this error is retryable (rate-limited, timeout, connection failure).

Used by the retry-with-backoff loop to decide whether to sleep and retry or surface the error immediately.
