Query for providers of a specific content hash (ADR 022 §Message Types).

The responder returns any known providers for hash and the K closest NodeIds it knows toward the hash in keyspace.

Fields

hash: ContentHash

BLAKE3 hash of the content being sought (iroh Hash, 32 bytes).

requester: NodeId

The caller’s self-declared NodeId (32-byte Ed25519 public key).

The responder MUST NOT use this wire value to update its routing table. It is attacker-controlled and trusting it reintroduces the routing-table-poisoning bug class (an authenticated peer seeding arbitrary, possibly unreachable ids it does not own). The responder refreshes only the authenticated QUIC peer id (conn.remote_id()); this field is carried for protocol symmetry and possible future use (which would require a per-request signature first).
